2022 Grant Awards

GALENA, IL – GALENA–A total of $26,938.25 was awarded to 16 Jo Daviess County not-for-profit organizations from the 2021 Galena Country Fair event through the Jo Daviess Country Fair Charities, Inc., grant program.

In addition, the fair distributed $9,614.57 to Jo Daviess County not-for-profit organizations who provided fair volunteers and $9,614.57 went to the City of Galena for their share of gate receipts for a total distribution of $47,217.82 from the 2021 Galena Country Fair.

Organizations receiving grants:

•Galena Knights of Columbus, $1,100 for Coats for Kids program

•St Ann Catholic Church, Warren IL, $1,000 for emergency assistance

•St Joseph Catholic Church, Apple River IL, $1,000 for emergency assistance

•East Dubuque Fire Department, $4,000 for EMS ultrasound and portable radios

•Galena Area EMS, $2,000 for equipment and training

•St Mark Youth Enrichment, Dubuque IA, $1,400 for "Apples for Students" program for East Dubuque

•ESL Program of Galena, $1,000 for educational materials

•Stockton FFA Chapter, $1,350 for greenhouse table

•Caring Neighbors Food Pantry, Warren IL, $1,000 for healthy foods

•St Mary Church, Elizabeth IL, $500 for emergency assistance

•The Workshop, Galena IL, $1,500 for "Adventure for All" program

•Stockton Community Ambulance, $1,128.25 for ultrasound and acoustic stethoscopes

•United Churches of Galena Food Pantry, $2,000 for Backpack project

•Warren Ambulance, $2,560 for cardiac monitor smart mount

•Elizabeth Food Basket, $2,000 for vigorous vegetable vitamin health

•Galena Police Department, $3,400 for Stalker DSR radar and antennas

The funds for these grants were made available from the proceeds of the 2021 Galena Country Fair event. None of the money from the profit of the fair was used toward administrative support of this group, it is strictly a volunteer organization.



Galena Country Fair: One of Galena's most popular events featuring more than 150 vendors selling a variety of high-quality, original handmade arts, crafts and fine arts. Held annually on Columbus Day Weekend in Galena's Grant Park, the event includes food, live music, kids' games, a wine garden, silent auction, and raffle.
